Lemonade is the sixth studio album by American singer Beyoncé. It was released on April 23, 2016, by Parkwood Entertainment and distributed through Columbia Records.
The record was widely acclaimed by critics, who praised it as Beyoncé's boldest work to date. Lemonade debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200, selling 485,000 copies in its first week (653,000 with additional album-equivalent units).
Lemonade has sold 2.5 million copies in 2016 worldwide, according to the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), becoming the best-selling album of that year.

The album title was inspired by Beyoncé's grandmother Agnéz Deréon, as well as her husband Jay Z's grandmother, Hattie White.

The album was accompanied by the release of a 60-minute film of the same name, which premiered on HBO on April 23, 2016.
