WhatsApp going to rock with new feature that would allow users to track their contacts in real time. Following with the Live Location Tracking feature it is also working on feature of getting notifications when friends change their status messages. These features are available in beta versions of the apps occording to WABetaInfo.

WhatsApp is going to block you in bluffing or deceving your friends about your location. It will let your friends now excactly where you are. With this feature, users will be able to set their present real time location visible to friends of their group chat. Though it allowing them to find each other more easily during meet-ups, we know the fact the this will stop people to lie about their location.


But it assure that User will have the option to enable Live Location Tracking for a limited period of time, with one-, two- and five-minute options available. But if any user disables the location then the remaining people in the group will come to the conclusion that this person is going to lie.

We have to wait and see how this will stop the fear of privacy. It is for sure that users need to manually opt for this feature according to their wish.

WhatsApp is also rumoured to be working on following tools as well.

1. A tool that allow users to edit and recall sent messages.

2. Getting notifications when friends change their status messages.

3. To bring the ability to save photos from WhatsApp into a separate folder in the camera roll by default.

4. There's a new 'Contact Us' action button that could presumably let you send feedback to the developers directly.

5. WhatsApp has also added the ability to send a notification to a user when he is running out of battery during live call.

How to enable or disable Live Location Tracking in Whats App?

A feature like this has the potential to raise concerns with regards to privacy. To address these concerns, the Live Location feature will be disabled until the user manually opts in via the app’s settings menu with name 'Show My Friends' .

For the people who don’t want to have their location constantly on display they can remove it on settings tab 'Show My Friends' . Surely it will be useful in certain scenarios, will have the option to enable the feature for a limited window of one, two or five minutes.
