How to sell on Amazon - Fee Structure Revised

Announcement on changes to Amazon Fees

In order to help you as an Amazon seller sell to more people every single day and offer the best possible customer experience every single time, we are making some changes to our commission structure. Your success and trust are of utmost importance to us at Amazon – and that is why this new rate card ensures we are the most competitive marketplace in India.

The following fee revisions will take place with effect from 22nd November, 2016:

• Selling on Amazon Referral Fee: Referral Fee has been revised for 24 categories. A complete list of categories with their revised fee rates is shown in Table 1 below
• Selling on Amazon Closing Fee: Fixed closing fee for all products priced greater than ₹ 1000 has been revised to ₹ 20 from the current fee of ₹ 10. Please refer Table 2 below for details
• Discounted FBA Weight Handling Fees: FBA Weight Handling Shipping Fee will be charged based on weight (physical or volumetric) as well as the distance traveled by a shipment from the FC to the customer delivery location. We will be offering discounted rates until 31st March 2017. Please refer tables 3.a, 3.b and 3.c for details
• Zero Fulfilment Fee for Items over Rs 20,000: In FBA, we will continue to offer Zero Fulfillment Fee (Pick & Pack Fee and Weight handling Shipping Fee) for all Small-size and Standard-size items priced over Rs. 20,000
• First Three Months Free Removals: We will continue to offer free Pickup and Standard removals for the first three months to each new seller who signs up for FBA
• Amazon EasyShip Shipping Fees for Oversize Items: We have reduced the shipping charges for Amazon EasyShip Oversize items. Please refer tables 4.a for details
• Amazon EasyShip Shipping Fees for Heavy and Bulky Items: We have introduced a separate rate card for Heavy and Bulky items in Amazon EasyShip. Please refer table 4.b for details
• Delivery Service Fee revision for FBA shipments: Delivery Service Fee will be charged at a revised rate of 1.25% of selling price for all items shipped through FBA
• Delivery Service Fee introduction for Amazon EasyShip shipments: Delivery Service Fee will be charged at a rate of 1.25% of selling price for all items shipped through Amazon EasyShip

Please note: 

• Fees shown in all tables above are displayed excluding taxes. We will apply 14% Service Tax, 0.5% Swachh Bharath Cess and 0.5% Krishi Kalyan Cess to all fees displayed above. (Total service tax of 15%)
• For FBA orders, the Outbound Shipping Weight is calculated for each individual shipment by adding the Packaging Weight to the overall shipment weight. We will use 80 gm, 100 gm and 500 gm as the Packaging Weight for Small, Standard and Oversize items respectively
• In FBA for Standard and Oversize items weighing more than 2 kg, we use Dimensional Weight if the Dimensional Weight is greater than the Unit Weight.
• In FBA for Oversize Heavy and Bulky items we will use Dimensional Weight if the Dimensional Weight is greater than the Unit Weight
• Dimensional weight is calculated using the formula, (Length x Width x Height) divided by 5000 to get the Dimensional weight of a unit in kilograms. Length, Width and Height are in centimeters
