What is Artha Dictionary?
Artha dictionary is a
famous digital dictionary for Ubuntu and Fedora users. No need to
struggle to install the Wordweb dictionary in your Ubuntu or Fedora
OS. You can use the free Artha dictionary which also have almost all
same features in Wordweb. This article helps to use the Artha more
easily more effectively.
If you don’t have install the Artha
yet then you can go through the free link:
Step 1: Open ‘Artha’:
We can open Atrha
by: Applications >> Accessories >> Artha
Now we can see the
window with options like look up field and simple/advanced mode
toggle button and hotkey and notify options which we look in detail.
Here you can search any English word or phrase.
Step 2: Artha Hotkey
This is the most
interesting option in this application. When you click on the
view/modify option then you will left with the window as shown in the
figure. By default it has the option for hot key as Ctrl+Alt+W. Yes,
it is true you can change this as you wish.
When you select
some word from any article from internet or something else then
simple press the Ctrl+Alt+W which will give you meaning of that word
as a notification on top right side of your Desktop screen
Step 3: Checkout Remaining Features
After you entered
any search key word the you are left with many options in the form of
tabs at the left bottom of the window. These options include
Synonyms, Antonyms, Derivatives, Attributes of, Similar, Kinds, Kind
etc,.
